our support staff

Kirsten is a familiar face to our RBAC family.  Her career with us began in 2001 as a front desk staff member, quickly moving up to become the evening office manager.  Inspired by seeing so many people helped through bodywork, Kirsten went to school to become a massage therapist herself.  She soon became one of our most respected and requested massage therapists.  After a five year hiatus from RBAC, Kirsten is thrilled to be back as our evening office manager.   In addition to her work here, Kirsten is a life-long student of dance and has recently been certified to teach the dance art of Nia. You will soon see upon entering our office how Kirsten makes everyone feel so welcome and comfortable, supporting their day with her sunshine, warmth, and smile.

We are so thrilled to welcome Kathi to our staff. She has an incredibly bright and cheerful way about her. She spends her free time meditating and walking at the ocean and considers herself a perennial student, who expresses her creativity through drawing pictures of botanicals. She also relishes in time spent with her family, which includes her dog Bailey. Kathi comes to Red Bank Acupuncture with many years of professional experience, having provided customer service for a multitude of businesses. This includes working in a supervisory and administrative capacity. Her warmth and caring nature is readily felt over the phone or upon walking into our center. You will most definitely feel your needs met during each visit, as she is a kind, considerate and conscientious individual.

We are happy to have Derick as an office staff member. Learning about how to best serve our Red Bank Acupuncture community has been an interesting and rewarding experience. He is currently a student majoring in Social Sciences at Brookdale College and will be graduating this year. Derick is especially interested in computer science, graphic arts, and sports. He loves people and is thrilled to have the opportunity to understand and personally witness the positive effects that Chinese medicine and therapeutic massage has on people’s lives. We feel fortunate to have his bright smile and kind nature here with us – exactly the warm welcome we love to offer here.

Michael became interested in alternative healing techniques while living in Santa Cruz in the mid 1970’s.  In 1982 he received certification at the Heartwood Institute, for therapeutic massage with specialization in shiatsu and acupressure.  He was instrumental in the implementation of an acupressure program in the Santa Cruz School System to help children with severe disabilities (and help their families). While earning his Pacific Oaks Master's degree in Human Development (1985), he served as consultant and project coordinator in computer technology and health education for the Santa Cruz County school system.

Currently, as the director of communications at Red Bank Acupuncture, Michael manages our website as well as the advertising and marketing programs.
